SLEEVE NOTES: | |
“More than anyone I ever met, Michael Chandler believes in the power of music to save souls. He should. It is the same power that almost destroyed him. For years he danced on the edge of the abyss, waltzing with Death and seduced by the succubi of abuse, until the gentle hand of God, born within him and manifest in the biggest beat of all time, led him to the Promised Land. Once blind, now he could see, and perhaps making up for lost time, he got to work with a feracity and passion and dedication to quality that left onlookers gasping and inspired. The music was looking forward through the past, a mighty gospel sound that gobbled up the entire history of rhythm and roll and came out rocking and perfectly ecumenical – it was that Old Time Religion for the Now Generation. Gone were the holy-roller overtones of the ancient church. All that was left was the deliverance of the groove. He found a band, The Lost crusaders, to follow him, and lead the stranded, mojo-hungry hordes out of the barren desert of contemporary “rock” music. Their message it simple – live, breathe, dance, sing, shake. Get with it.
