One of the highlights from Jon Spencer‘s solo debut, Spencer Sings the Hits, is “Beetle Boots,” where he rails against fakes and phonies — all against a typically explosive backing. He’s just released a video for that one, directed by Andrew Hooper in pop art style, and featuring his solo band, the HITmakers — aka Bob Bert (Sonic Youth/Pussy Galore), Sam Coomes (Quasi, Heatmiser), and M. Sord.
