“It’s not a hill I’m ready to die on, but I’d mount a vigorous defense that 1994’s Orange from the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion is his acme (er, sorry for that kinda terrible pun). It was nice to hear the songs “Sweat” and “Full Grown” from that record, with the added twist of Kendall Wind’s bass taking over Judah Bauer’s guitar parts. These are not the blues songs that lawyers with $7000 guitars play, but Spencer will offer them a whiff of his pant leg anytime.”
