NOTES: | |
Expanded reissue of Now I Got Worry includes an additional 11 rare tracks, 4 Radio Spots and a previously unreleased song titled Roosevelt Hotel Blues (featuring Beck and Money Mark on keyboards).
On this release the Ernie & Eddie promo spot is slightly shorter than it appears on the original 7″ single (leaving off the instrumental fade out) and Street Sez-Me was originally titled Seasame Street. Issued in DigiPak similar in design to the original release with an additional pocket and 16 page booklet featuring many photographs and extensive sleeve notes by Mike Edison. This album features appearances by Thermos Malling of Doo Rag (2Kindsa Love / Sticky), Mark Ramos Nishita a.k.a. Money Mark (Chicken Dog / Can’t Stop / Firefly Child / Get With It / Fish Sauce / Yellow Eyes / Turn Up Greene / Buscemi / Roosevelt Hotel Blues), Rufus Thomas (Chicken Dog), Justin Berry (Firefly Child), King Ad-Rock of the Beastie Boys (Cool Vee), Jon Wahl of The Pontiac Brothers / Claw Hammer (Turn Up Greene), Cliff Taylor (Judah Love Theme) and Beck (Roosevelt Hotel Blues). The additional tracks previously appeared on the following releases: Now I Got Worry was originally released on vinyl, CD and cassette with the Japanese edition including Cool Vee and Get With It as bonus tracks. The Korean edition of the album has fifteen rather than the usual 16 tracks ommitting the Dub Narcotic Sound System cover version Fuck Shit Up. In the UK Wail and 2Kindsa Love were released as singles, in Australia there was a 7″ (on black and red vinyl) and CD of Rocketship and the US only saw promotional editons of Wail and 2Kindsa Love issued. The artwork for the UK and US promo editions of Controversial Negro was originally intended for this album. During an interview with MagnetMagazine.com Jon Spencer was asked about the origins of the song Buscemi: “I assume your song “Buscemi” is about one of my all-time favorite actors, Steve Buscemi. |
