| The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion Crypt Style issued in digiPak with black tray.
One version of the ‘debut’ album all of which have slightly different running orders and tracklistings. The tracks on this release come from recording sessions with Kramer (July 1991) and Steve Albini (November/December 1991). The Shirt Jac single was also recorded during the Albini sessions. During an interview with Fiz magazine (issue #5) Jon Spencer speaks about the various editions of the first album and states that “if you have to buy one, buy the Crypt record – it’s our record.” Extract from Vertigozine interview: “Jon: “Crypt Style is like a variation of the first record. Tim Moran*, the guy that runs Crypt picked the songs and the sequencing and I endorse theremin, so I had them out on Caroline Records in the U.S.”” – vertigozine.co.uk/3_jsbe.php *Crypt Style owner is Tim Warren not ‘Tim Moran’ as printed in the interview. Crypt Style: The first album was available as A Reverse Willie Horton, Crypt Style (CD / LP), Crypt Style [25 Tracks / Japan], The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion (CD / CASSETTE / LP) and on 10 August 2010 Shout!
