このタイトルはどのような経緯で生まれたのでしょうか？
「曲を書き終えて、レコーディングも終えて、ミックスも完成して、作品としてまとまった時にこのタイトルが降りてきて、これだ！と確信したわけさ。
今回のアルバム全体に抗議であり政治的なテーマが一貫して流れてるからね。
今、アメリカは憲法や民主主義が根幹から脅かされているという危機的状況にあるわけで、絶望せずにはいられない。それに対して、自分は政治的、社会的問題に積極的に関わってるし、現政権のゾッとするような政策に対して抗議活動もしている。
ただ、そこが厄介なところで、自分はそもそも政治的な音楽が昔から趣味じゃないってのがあって(笑)。
ロックンロールは自分にとって神聖な領域だから、そこに余計なものを持ち込みたくないって気持ちが強い……とはいえね！
ロックンロールに人生を捧げて、心からロックンロールを愛している自分のような人間にとってとてもじゃないけど見ていられないし、かつてこの国が掲げていた約束であり理想であり自由がことごとく引き裂かれていくのを目の当たりにして胸が張り裂けるような痛みを感じてるわけさ。
“パーソナル・ロス”ってとこに関しては、今の自分の年齢になると、家族や友人、身近な人が病気になったり、亡くなったりする時期に差し掛かってきてる……
それは人生の自然な流れだとわかってはいるけれど、重たいできことであることは事実で、その部分を表現してる」（以下、本記事に続く）
“The title of this album feels particularly introspective compared to other works in your career.
How did this title come about?
“After I finished writing the songs, recording them, mixing them, and putting the whole thing together, this title came to me, and I was convinced that this was it!
There’s a consistent theme of protest and politics running through this entire album.
Right now, America is in a critical situation where the Constitution and democracy are being threatened at their very foundations, and it’s impossible not to feel despair. In response, I’m actively involved in political and social issues, and I’m also protesting against the current administration’s appalling policies.
However, that’s the tricky part, because I’ve never been particularly fond of political music (laughs).
Rock and roll is a sacred realm for me, so that makes it even more difficult…” I have a strong feeling that I don’t want to bring anything in…but still! For someone like me who has dedicated their life to rock and roll and truly loves it, it’s just unbearable to watch, and it breaks my heart to see all the promises, ideals, and freedoms that this country once upheld being torn apart.
As for “personal loss,” at my age now, I’m reaching the point where family, friends, and people close to me are getting sick or passing away…I know it’s a natural part of life, but it’s a heavy thing, and that’s what I’m expressing.” “
