Pussy Galore show at an unknown venue in Portland, OR, US, possibly October 1987 although the story could relate to the Portland shows in 1988 or 1989.
“Portland, 1987?, gig next to tattoo parlour, crowd was very nice. Too nice. Very sociable. Managing to talk over the veritable racket that PG made. Although we didn’t have breaks between most songs, occasionally after 4 or 5 in a row, we would take 30 seconds to regroup before going straight into another barrage. So imagine 30 seconds of the sound of a very active, successful cocktail party. It bugged me. It bugged Jon. So finally, ten or fifteen minutes into a thirty minute set, Jon said, “If you’re so fucking bored, why don’t you leave?” And they did. En masse. All of them.
