“TOOL SHED TRASH CATS

So just how deep is the Big Apple’s scuzz pit and how much longer will it be before we finally hit the nauseous residue that lies at the bedrock of post-no wave, post-reality NYC? Or have we already reached it with Pussy Galore, the gnarliest, most scuzzed out molotov to hit the streets since the heady days of Teenage Jesus And The Jerks?

But careful now or this ragin’ kitty will scratch your eyes clean out at the slightest prompting. ‘Right Now!’ boasts 19 tracks with a total running time of around 32 minutes; that’s an average of just over 90 seconds per track and that’s bitchin’.

It’s not so much garage rock as tool shed carnage, and while Pussy G might lean towards mild urban surrealism a la Magic Band in their calmer moments, ‘Right Now!’ is rarely less than one huge steaming blur of malicious intend.

Play it backwards at 78, 45 or even 33 rpm and invoke the wrath of Sun readers everywhere and the massed ranks of the PMRC by deciphering the true path to Satanic delinquency. This non-stop merry-go-round of excitable noise will have you on your knees begging for more,

A CD release is promised, but can they be serious and do we really care? From the ritualistic trashing of the entire four sides of ‘Exile On Main Street’ to becoming the latest addition to the all engulfing compact brigade – it all makes twisted sense in a warped sort of way.

But right now, the time has come to rebuild the generation gap brick by brick in the privacy of your own brain, and there’s no better soundtrack to do it by. It might be an arual pile up of equal parts Beefheart, Neubauten, Butthole Surfers, Teenage Jesus, the Stooges and the MC5. But right now it’s all that matters,
