Although Bloodshot Eyes [LYRICS] was originally a song written and released by Hank Penny, another artist on the King label, the song crossed over into R&B creating this hit for Wynonie Harris. The Heavy Trash cover version of this track [LYRICS] would appear to be of the Wynonie Harris recording due to the fact that both artists refer to “brown eyes” whereas in the Hank Penny original the eye-colour is “blue”. Simon Chardiet takes the lead vocals on the Heavy Trash live cover of the track.
