10″ Vinyl Split EP between Heavy Trash and Powersolo with printed inner-sleeve, first 250 come with CD and hand-numbered and stickered cover.
Also available as Jewelcase CD which includes a photo of Powersolo and Heavy Trash taken during their US summer tour of 2007 but is not present on the 10″ artwork. Liebe Auf Den Ersten Blick by Heavy Trash is a cover of a D.A.F. track (RELEASE) and the vinyl run-out groove engraving features the German text “Du machst mich verliebt” (Side A) and “Du machst mich verrückt” (Side B) which is taken from the original lyrics of the song. A rough English translation of this is “You drive me crazy” (Side A) / “You make me fall in love” (Side B) and I believe the song title is “Love at first sight”. This version features sleeve-notes which do not appear on the CD format. The bottom right-hand corner of the rear sleeve features the text ‘gestaltungsimonschmiede’ only in it’s mirror-image version. See images above for the text the correct way around. This is the name of ‘Simon Schmieder Gestaltung’ who did the artwork/graphic design for this record. The cover/rear paintings are by ‘Marsn’ (who is also in the band Mongouse). The spine on the regular cd version gives the catalogue number as ‘RIR.NO2’ but this is not featured on the 10″ sleeve anywhere. The run-out groove features the numbers ‘82275’ and ‘205.898’ which both could be catalogue numbers but there appears to be no corrisponding number on the CD. This is No. 2 in a series of split released put out by Rhythm Island Records (No. 1 featured Raik & the Chainballs/The Shape-Shifters). Available from Rhythm Island Records myspace page, Flight13.com and perhaps also the Crunchy Frog Vibrashop.com. |

“Powersolo says “Hail Rock and Roll” and thanks to: YOU!”
“This Rhythm Island Long Playing 33 1/3 RPM Rockingroove Record is a modern high quality musical reproduction worthy your special care. Always keep stored in this special protective envelope. Avoid handling playing surface, dust and heat. Rhythm Island Long Playing Records can be played only on 33 1/2 RPM phonographs. Check your needle frequently for wear – if defective it can permanently damage this record.” “GREAT DANES AIN’T NO HOUND DOGS It was quite the scene at Carmine’s, the overpriced Manhatten tourist mecca known for its boring red sauce and leaden meatballs, when flaccid action star Nicholas Cage and has-been sleazeball Harvey Keitel were heard arguing loudly after attending last night’s concert by Danish rockabilly weirdos PowerSolo and their American cohorts, the aptly named Heavy Trash, whose weathered look is rivaled only by the octogenarian crowd at Carmine’s. Our spy tells us that Nicholas Cage, well-known for his large collection of erotic art built exclusively from Lego-brand building blocks was telling Keitel of the wonders of Denmark, and especially the Danes wonderful sense of humor, to which Keitel responded, “Niels Bohr? Oh, yeah, atomic piles. Whatta riot. And Haagen-Dazs? I bet Brigette Nielsen’s pussy tastes better after a night with Falvor Flav than that crap.” Haagen-Dazs, of course, is not Danish at all, and is made in New Jersey, a nearly apoplectic Cage screamed at Keitel, before slamming him over the head with a thirty-dollar plate of fettuccini alfredo, and launching into an acapella version of PowerSolo’s hit song “Uberholen Hat Keinen Zweck.” Says our man-on-the-scene: “It was like if skinny Elvis took all the drugs that fat old Elvis took. But the guy knows his Danish rockabilly, I’ll give him that.” -As reported on Page Six of the New York Post, America’s No. 1 Source for News and Information. |
