“CRUNT

We know Super-groups = Super-lame, but what’s the matter with that? Tailored for your commercial alternative needs, Trance Syndicate is proud to present Crunt!

Thrown together through unfortunate circumstances, aka living in Seattle, Kat Bjelland of Babes in Toyland, Russell Simmons of John Spencer Blues Explosion and Stu Spasm of Lubricated Goat got tired of microbrews and endless Satanic goat rituals at Bruce Pavitt’s house, and, you know, they’re creative types. So, tempting to cash in on the parade and do a little rock ‘n’ rolling, they formed a democracy whereby they look good and sound svelte. Funny thing is, they play loud and lean, rock ‘n’ roll from the heart— – even if that sounds cheesy. There are elements of R & funk riffs, and a bass drum that says punk rock. Each of them does a little singing, with words you can sing along with if you’d like. They really look like they are enjoying themselves too, maybe because Kat plays bass and get to be groovy, and Stu wears shiny silk shirts, and Russell is an incomparable drumming fool, playing on his stripped-down teeny kit that actually lives through shows! Since forming over the summer of 1993, they played a few hit shows, then packed their bags for the big city where they feel at home and share milk and cookies with all their New York comrades. Not to worry either, because, yes, they are a real band. They even have a Theme From Crunt and plan on touring. Lucky for us, because when they play it’s like liquid sunshine in box. Dogs go nuts for them too!

Kat Bjelland: Bass/Vocals
Stu Spasm: Guitar/Vocals
Russell Simmons: Drums/Vocals
