7″ single release limited to 500 copies, issued with postcard, featuring two tracks taken from the Monks tribute album Silver Monk Time (which also features Jon Spencer and Solex covering Complication) although not mentioned on the CD sleeve according to the Digital Hardcore website the Alec Empire track features Russell Simins.
The single was sold-out and there was news of a second pressing in the future but “possible second pressing” text was been removed from the Play Loud site in March 2009. Both this single and the compilation album are to accompany The Transatlantic Feedback documentary which will be available on DVD in the future. “HOT NEWS: Alec starts collaborating with Russell Simins (drummer with Jon Spencer Blues Explosion) and Gary Burger (original member of The Monks)! They start recording a new version of the song “Black Monk Time” for a documentary film about The Monks in New York middle of January 2006… Alec:” I am very excited about this! The Monks have spearheaded what any credible musician in the scene is about right now. To have the chance to do a project like this is just mind blowing. I heard The Monks first time on John Peel’s radio show a long time back. And they changed the way I looked at music ever since. Their attitude was dramatically different to anything I had heard up until then. I’m on a high! Great!” – digitalhardcore.com |
